1. Service Description
Alerto.io ("Service", "we", "us") provides uptime monitoring, alerting, and public status page services. Our platform monitors your websites, servers, and services from multiple global locations and delivers notifications when issues are detected.
The Service includes:
- HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, DNS, and ICMP monitoring
- Visual (screenshot) change detection
- IP blacklist / DNSBL monitoring
- Alert delivery via Telegram, Email, Slack, Webhooks, and SMS
- Public and custom-domain status pages
- Load testing tools
- API access for programmatic management
2. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate registration information
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
3. Free & Paid Plans
Alerto.io offers a free tier and paid subscription plans:
- Free plan: Includes up to 5 monitors, 60-second check intervals, 7-day history, and basic alerting. Free forever with no credit card required.
- Paid plans (Pro, Business): Offer additional monitors, faster check intervals, extended history, and premium features. Pricing is displayed on our website and may change with 30 days' notice.
Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually. Payments are non-refundable except where required by law. If payment fails, we may downgrade your account to the free tier after a 7-day grace period. You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Monitor targets you do not own or have authorization to monitor
- Use the Service as a load testing or stress testing tool against third-party infrastructure (use our built-in load testing tool only against your own services)
- Attempt to overwhelm the Service or its infrastructure
- Use the Service for malicious reconnaissance, vulnerability scanning, or any form of attack
- Resell, redistribute, or white-label the Service without written permission
- Interfere with other users' use of the Service
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.
5. Data Collection & Ownership
When you use the Service, we collect and store:
- Monitor configuration (target URLs, IPs, check intervals, alert preferences)
- Check results (response times, status codes, screenshots)
- Incident and alert history
- Account information (email address, preferences)
You retain ownership of your data. We use it solely to provide and improve the Service. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
6. Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable, continuous monitoring. However:
- Free tier: Provided on a best-effort basis with no uptime guarantees or SLA.
- Paid plans: We target 99.9% platform availability but do not offer formal SLA guarantees at this time.
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible.
- We are not responsible for false positives or missed alerts caused by network conditions, third-party service failures, or force majeure events.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not guarantee that monitoring will detect all outages or that alerts will be delivered without delay.
- Alerto shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of revenue, data, or business opportunities.
- Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard settings. Upon deletion:
- All monitors, configurations, and historical data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
- Active paid subscriptions will not be refunded for the remainder of the billing period.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, fail to pay for a paid plan, or if we discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice).
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Effective" date at the top of this page
- Notify registered users via email
- Provide at least 30 days' notice before changes take effect
Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration or the competent courts.
